Housing Placement and Rental Assistance Programs
  • Assist TANF eligible families in transitioning to permanent housing. Includes security deposits and or first month rent and case management
  • Hoʻolanani Shelter (Emergency Shelter)
  • 15-bed emergency shelter for women and children
  • Entry is on a first come, first served basis
  • Check-in between 4:30-6:30pm and exit by 7:45am
  • Overnight stay includes a bed, a shower, and a hot meal

Hawaiʻi Student Suites at Maui Beach Hotel
170 West Kaʻahumanu Ave., Kahului, HI 96732
  • Student housing option for UH Maui Students as well as ESL and other secondary education students
  • Fully furnished units are air conditioned with the following amenities: electric, cable, gas, internet, water, trash, on-site laundry facilities, pool, and housekeeping service
  • Rates vary from $645 to $1,250 per month depending on occupancy type (single and double occupancy available)
  • $50 per month for on-site parking stalls
  • $200 deposit required
  • All units have the option for single or double occupancy (cheaper rates for double occupancy); rates vary depending on length of stay in unit
  • Customized contracts available for students whose desired length of stay does not fit within a standard school term

Hawaiian Community Assets (HCA)
  • Loan Packaging and Processing to secure affordable mortgage financing to purchase a home
  • HCA Managing Assets to Change Hawaiʻi (MATCH)  Program opens Individual Development Accounts (IDA) to provide youth and families with a 4:1 match savings up to a total of $2,500 toward the purchase an identified savings goal
  • Credit Builder Micro-Loans provides secured, low-interest fixed-rate loans up to $1,000 to establish and improve credit
  • Tax and FAFSA Preparation Assistance: File for Earned Income and Child Tax Credits and Federal Pell Grant, Work-Study, and student loans through the Federal Government
  • All participants in HCA programs are required to complete the Kahua Waiwai housing / financial education workshops, establish long-terms savings habits, and receive individualized housing / credit counseling from HCA
  • Serves ALL low- and moderate-income families living in Hawaiʻi regardless of race, with specialization in the housing needs of Native Hawaiians
